This is the inspiration for my next color. |
Very Janet Jackson-ish. |
I once met a young man from another HBCU that insisted that I looked like Jill Scott. I was instantly annoyed; just because I wear a fro doesn't mean that I look like every curly hair celebrity that sings a song. The labels people put on you when you have natural hair are entertaining to say the least. Anyway, he told me a year later that it meant it as a compliment, and that he had always found Jill Scott to be beautiful. I now know that he was being a blatant flirt lol.
He was right. Jill is beautiful. Sometimes it is easy to overlook a woman's beauty in the entertainment industry when she is not created into an overtly sexual character. And because the inspiration between life and art is circulatory, that is true outside of hills of Hollywood. I often hear girls complain that guys simply look over them in pursuit of the chick with her tits and ass on display.
Sometimes these girls forget just how beautiful they are and either become discouraged within their selves, or encouraged to fit the stereotype of what they think a woman.
In the midst of all that attention it becomes easy to forget that it is possible to be sexy, beautiful, and alluring while being a lady.
Conversely, it is also easy to forget that "ladies" also have sexual desires just like any other living thing on the planet.
That's why I like Jill. She'll remind you lol.
That being said, I don't look a damn thing like Jill Scott, or anybody else for that matter.
